The Lewis County Democratic Central Committee has launched a Community Priorities Survey to better understand what residents across the county see as the most pressing issues facing their families and communities.
The survey, available at lcdcc.org/community-survey, asks residents about their biggest concerns for Lewis County’s future, including environmental protection, job opportunities, housing costs, infrastructure, education, health care access and public safety. It also explores how residents prefer to get involved in their community and where they get information about local and national issues.
“The Democrats here in Lewis County aren’t the Democrats in Olympia or D.C.,” Zac Eckstein, chair of the Lewis County Democratic Central Committee, said in a news release. “Democrats here are interested in listening and advocating for things that matter to us and our neighbors.”
The survey is open to all Lewis County residents regardless of party affiliation or political views. Survey responses will help inform the committee’s advocacy priorities and community engagement strategies for 2025 and beyond, with findings shared publicly in the coming months.
“We recognize that there’s a trust issue with voters. It’s been decades since Democrats actually engaged with the community here,” Eckstein said. “We’re not looking to impose solutions from the outside; we’re way more interested in understanding what our neighbors are experiencing and building solutions from there.”
The survey takes approximately three minutes to complete.
