Roughly 500 county employees celebrated their hard work Thursday during the annual Lewis County employee picnic.

The barbecue, paid for through donations, included hamburgers, hot dogs and corn. County employees also donated prizes for a raffle, a new addition to the yearly event.

Lewis County commissioners say the celebration is a “heartfelt celebration of the tremendous efforts and unwavering commitment exhibited by our county employees, day in and day out.”

“Their dedication is the cornerstone that upholds the integrity and vibrancy of our community. It was a joy to see smiles on faces and camaraderie in the air, as we gathered to appreciate the very individuals who make our county a beacon of excellence and community spirit,” Commissioner Sean Swope said. “Here’s to celebrating the remarkable talents and unflagging efforts of our beloved county team, who tirelessly strive to make our home a better place, each and every day.”

Commissioner Scott Brummer said it’s “a privilege to be part of this great team of people.”

“I value the dedication they bring to their jobs and the genuine positive work environment they create,” Brummer said. “Our county employees are simply the very best and we can be proud of the job they do for us.”
