Law enforcement personnel across Lewis County, including the Washington State Department of Corrections, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the Centralia Police Department, the Napavine Police Department and the Morton Police Department, served a large number of warrants on Tuesday during the annual National Family Violence Warrant Sweep, according to news releases from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and the Centralia Police Department.

Law enforcement personnel assigned to the warrant sweep made 112 service attempts, resulting in three felony warrants served and 20 misdemeanor warrants served, according to the sheriff’s office.

The operation also included attempted service and arrest of nearly seventy 70 individuals who currently have active Centralia Municipal Court warrants for domestic violence related crimes, according to the Centralia Police Department, which arrested four individuals during the sweep. Of those four, one was of a subject who refused to exit his residence, prompting officers to obtain a search warrant, according to the Centralia Police Department. All subjects were booked into the Lewis County Jail.

An additional subject turned himself in on Oct. 20, according to the Centralia Police Department.

The operation was supported by Domestic Violence Grant funds with lunch being provided by Hope Alliance, according to the Centralia Police Department.

The collaborative event was conducted to locate and arrest people with outstanding warrants in the Lewis County area, according to the sheriff’s office.

While the main focus of the sweep was outstanding domestic violence warrants, other non-domestic violence warrants were also attempted, according to the sheriff’s office.

“This was a great collaboration by Lewis County law enforcement to enhance public safety in our community,” said Sheriff Rob Snaza.
