The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners is looking for one volunteer to serve as an alternate on the county’s Water Conservancy Board, according to a news release.

Five positions make up the Water Conservancy Board, with three regular board seats and two alternates. The governing board is responsible for processing local water rights applications along with the Washington state Department of Ecology.

The new volunteer will be required to attend a four-day training event with the Department of Ecology this fall and complete eight hours of continuing education each year they remain on the board. All training is paid for by the Water Conservancy Board.

Those interested in applying are asked to mail an application, a letter of interest and a brief resume to the Lewis County Water Conservancy Board, Attn. New Board Member, P.O. Box 1345, Chehalis, WA, 98532.

Applicants cannot be affiliated with any other municipal organizations. Deadline for application is Aug. 3 at 5 p.m.
