Model train enthusiasts young and old are invited to the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds this weekend as the annual autumn Lewis County Model Railroad Club Train Show and Swap Meet returns to the fairgrounds’ Blue Pavillion.
Whether you’re a diehard model train enthusiast looking to customize one of your engines, a historical collector looking for authentic railroad antiques including lanterns, or just someone curious about the hobby, the train show is where you want to be.
It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, according to the Lewis County Historical Museum.
“If you're coming down for the show, make sure to bring your ticket to the museum afterward for free admission to our exhibits,” Lewis County Historical Museum Executive Director Jason Mattson stated in an online post. “We are located in Chehalis' historic train depot and we have an incredible railroad model, train books, a children's train table, live train cam and more for railfans to enjoy!”
The Southwest Washington Fairgrounds are located at 1909 S. Gold St. between the Twin Cities.
