The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the seat for Weed District 3, which includes the areas of Vader, Toledo, Winlock and Napavine, according to a news release from the Weed Control Board.
Candidates can contact weeds@lewiscountywa.gov to receive a copy of the application, which will entail a statement of interest and require the applicant to obtain the signatures of 10 registered voters within the same weed district.
According to the release, the ideal applicant will have an interest in serving their community, a background in primary agricultural production or a related field pertinent to noxious weed or vegetation management, and be able to attend a two-hour meeting once every three months, usually in February, May, August and November.
Candidates will be evaluated by the Weed Board before recommendations for appointment are forwarded on to the county commissioners, the release stated.
