The Lewis County government recently passed a Washington State Auditor’s Office examination of county finances from January to December of 2021, according to a news release from the county.

State Auditor Audit Lead Melissa Dixon told county commissioners that the state team didn’t find any material misstatements during the audit, according to the news release.

“The county had a clean audit; the funds (federal grant money) were spent in accordance with federal guidelines,” Dixon said in the release.

Lewis County Commissioner Lindsey Pollock added that the audit results were made possible by the efforts of the county staff.

“This is an amazing testament to the efforts on the part of the county staff to be responsible for every penny that comes to us in tax funds,” Pollock said in the release.

The allocations of both federal and state funds were examined by the state auditors and no financial errors were found.

“It’s a reflection of the excellent financial health of the county and of the team we have put together. Anytime we complete an audit with no issues it’s good for citizens and good for the county as an organization,” added Lewis County Auditor Larry Grove in the release.
