The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is seeking Lewis County residents interested in participating in the county’s 2025 budget-setting process. The BOCC is seeking volunteers from each commissioner district to attend budget meetings in October and November and to provide feedback to the commissioners.

Application packets for the Citizens Budget Committee are available by visiting the “BOCC News” section at the bottom of the commissioners’ website  at https://lewiscountywa.gov/offices/commissioners/.  Residents interested in participating in the budget process are asked to submit an application and a letter of interest to Rieva Lester, clerk of the board, in one of the following three ways:

• By mail at 351 NW North St., Chehalis, WA, 98532.

• Via email at committees@lewiscountywa.gov (include “Budget” in the subject line).

• In person at the commissioners’ office on the second floor of the historic courthouse, 351 NW North St.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024.

All budget meetings are open to the public, and the BOCC encourages all citizens to participate, regardless of whether they join the Citizens Budget Committee. Budget meetings are tentatively scheduled for all day Sept. 30, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, with additional, shorter updates planned in November.

The Citizens Budget Committee also will meet with Budget Administrator Becky Butler numerous times throughout the budget-setting process.

For questions about the committee, including information about the time commitment, contact Butler by phone at 360-740-1198 or via email at becky.butler@lewiscountywa.gov
