A social worker in Lewis County is facing discipline from the state Department of Health for allegedly going to work while under the influence of cocaine.

Unprofessional conduct charges against Erin L. Wilson, who was working as an associate social worker “in the employ of a well-known health care provider,” were filed by the state Social Worker Program and the state Agency Affiliated Counselor Program on Aug. 29, with amended charges filed on Oct. 28.

Administration at the facility, which wasn’t named in the charging documents, had expressed concern that Wilson “might be under the influence of controlled substances at work” and requested that Wilson submit to urinalysis testing. After the test revealed the presence of cocaine, Wilson allegedly admitted to having used cocaine, per charging documents.

Enforcement action was pending as of Monday, according to the state Department of Health.

Wilson’s associate social worker license expired Oct. 9, 2022. Her agency affiliated counselor license expired Jan. 25, 2021
