Lewis County Still Seeking Input on Packwood Housing; Public Meeting Series to Be Held

Posted

To gather community insight about the future of housing in Packwood, Lewis County staff have announced a series of discussions known as the Packwood Housing Forums. This series will kick off on Jan. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Packwood Community Center.

A survey is also currently open for individuals to provide input about housing in the East Lewis County community. It is set to close on Jan. 31.

Paper copies of the survey can be found at the Packwood Timberland Library. It can also be completed online at https://tinyurl.com/94rvrrpd.

The county is beginning the process of creating a sub-area plan for the Packwood area. According to Mindy Brooks, senior long-range planner, the forums and survey results will inform the plan’s creation.

“Brooks and Special Projects Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Eric Eisenberg, who is on special assignment as part of a countywide housing initiative, are spearheading the Packwood Housing Forums.

“Housing across Lewis County has been a focus of the Board of County Commissioners during 2021 and results from the forums and survey will help inform discussion in 2022,” stated a news release from the county.
