Lewis County will hold two free tire recycling events in October.
County residents can bring up to 12 tires per person. Passenger and light truck tires can be either on or off the rim, while semi-truck tires must be off the rim. The county asks that residents not bring tires from business customers, semi-truck tires on the rim or tires from heavy equipment.
The county says residents should bring an ID to the event.
The first collection event will be held at the Packwood Community Hall on Oct. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Packwood Community Hall is located at 12935 on Highway 12. The second event will be on Oct. 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds at 1909 S. Gold St. in Centralia.
