The Onalaska and Rainier softball teams took turns dominating on Monday, as the Loggers won the first game of their doubleheader 18-3, and the Mountaineers won the second 20-5.

In Game 1, the Loggers (2-4, 1-1 C2BL) scored seven in the third and four in the fourth to break the game open, but they didn’t put the game into run-rule territory in the first six innings.

Instead, they scored six in the seventh to push the lead to 15.

Lisa Liddell struck out 10 in the circle, and she also hit a home run and a double to drive in a pair. Randi Haight went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, and Desi Smith had three hits and two runs batted in.

It was the polar opposite in Game 2, when the Mountaineers (4-3, 1-1 C2BL) were the ones scoring with ease.

They scored eight in the first two innings and 12 in the third to end the game in three, even with Onalaska putting up four in the bottom of the third.

Brooklynn Swenson went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and five RBIs, while Keira Anderson went 2 for 2 with a triple and three runs batted in. Olivia Earsley also tallied three hits and a pair of RBIs.

The Loggers will host Napavine on Thursday, while the Mountaineers will head to Morton to take on Morton-White Pass.
