The Onalaska girls basketball team got back to .500 in a big way on Saturday, dominating Hoquiam in a 57-22 win.

The Loggers (10-10, 5-7 C2BL) blanked the Grizzlies in the first quarter, outscoring them 21-0 to quickly seize control of the game. That defensive dominance continued in the second quarter, and they took a 36-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Not much changed after the break, as the Loggers scored 19 more points in the third before a quiet fourth quarter.

“Tonight was a great team win,” Onalaska coach Alana Olson said. “The girls came out with a lot of defensive intensity and heart. I was worried that we may come out and show some fatigue with this being our fourth game this week, but the girls had a great deal of energy from tip off to the last buzzer.”

Emalie Jacoby led Onalaska with 20 points, while Jaycee Kinsman added nine. Randi Haight and Kiley Talley scored eight each.

The Loggers will wrap up their regular season at home on Wednesday against Adna.
