The Onalaska softball team wasted no time jumping in front of Winlock on Thursday, scoring eight runs in the first inning to pave the way for a 22-1 victory.
Winlock responded with its lone run in the bottom half of the first, but the Loggers got that run back in the second before adding 13 more over the final three innings.
Braelyn Babb pitched the first three innings, allowing just the one run and one hit while striking out seven. Chloe Haag posted a zero in the fourth, and Randi Haight pitched a shutout inning in the fifth, her first varsity pitching appearance.
“They had a good night,” Onalaska coach Rich Teitzel said.
The Loggers (2-2, 1-1 C2BL) will be back at home on Saturday against Rainier for another non-league game.
“Gonna try out some more pitchers, improve on our baserunning, and tighten up a few things,” Teitzel said.
