The Onalaska girls soccer team dropped its first road contest of the season Thursday, losing 2-1 at 1A Castle Rock.

The Loggers (0-2) snapped off 15 shots to the Rockets’ six, but two of those Castle Rock efforts found the back of the net in the first half to give the hosts the lead.

Kaiyah Sandridge came on as a substitute after halftime for Onalaska and made an immediate impact with a goal in the 43rd minute to halve the deficit. Sandridge put the ball in the net just before the full-time whistle as well, but it was called back by the referee.

Hailee Brown made four saves on the night, while Jaycee Talley led the Loggers with five shots.

Onalaska will get a week-long break, and return to action next Thursday against 1A Hoquiam.
