Loggers pummel Grizzlies for first win

The Onalaska girls soccer team steadily built out its lead Thursday evening at home, beating 1A Hoquiam 4-1 in a non-league affair for their first win of the fall.

Kaiyah Sandridge got the scoring started for the Loggers (1-2) with a goal eight minutes in, and doubled the lead with a second eight minutes after that.

Five minutes past that, Yuliana Escalera added a goal of her own, to give Onalaska a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Randi Haight scored in the 54th minute to make it 4-0, before Hoquam got on the board in the 59th.

Hailee Brown made three saves for the Loggers between the sticks. On the back line, Jaycee Talley had 12 interceptions, and Kiley Talley had nine clearances.

Onalaska will take on Toutle Lake on Monday, in what will be officially a non-league matchup.
