From the opening kickoff, it was clear that it was Onalaska’s night. Rodrigo Rodriguez returned that kick inside the five, and even after a penalty, ran in a 6-yard touchdown to get the Loggers on the board almost instantly.

The Loggers’ momentum continued, as they scored six touchdowns in the first quarter of a dominant 58-0 win over Morton-White Pass.

“I was real proud of the kids,” Onalaska coach Mazen Saade said. “They knew the job at hand, and they came out and went to work … We were very pleased with their effort today.”

Even when things didn’t seem to be going the Loggers’ way, things worked out for them. After the third touchdown, a 77-yard rushing touchdown from Blaze Underhill, he caught his own pass on the two-point conversion.

“I’ve never seen that,” Saade said.

Rodriguez finished with 162 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, and he also returned a punt for a touchdown.

Eli Srnka ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns on four carries, and Lane Gordon scored and racked up 56 yards on a pair of carries.

Defensively, the Loggers outscored MWP, as they forced a safety in the second. They also held the T-Wolves to just 41 rushing yards, though that mark was at negative-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

Morton-White Pass (2-3, 0-2 C2BL East) will look to bounce back in an 8-man game against Winlock next Friday, Oct. 11, while Onalaska (4-1, 3-0 C2BL East) will head north to face 1A Cascade Christian at Bonney Lake on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Onalaska was initially scheduled to play Lake Roosevelt in Kittitas, but the Raiders couldn’t field a full team.

“We’re super excited about next week,” Saade said. “They're gonna take the weekend and enjoy this, and then we’re gonna go back to work on Monday.”
