A Chehalis man identified as a possible low-level drug dealer was charged Thursday with seven felony firearm offenses after Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) detectives raided his home the day prior.

Bail is set at $50,000.

Quincy Edward Lavar Burton, 45, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at approximately 12:13 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, after JNET detectives executed a search warrant “to search for guns and drugs” at his residence in the 700 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue that day, according to jail records and a JNET news release.

According to JNET, detectives “initiated a criminal investigation into Quincy after he was identified as a low-level drug dealer in Chehalis who was always armed with a  firearm.”

Burton’s criminal history includes two 2020 convictions for second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and several felony drug-related convictions from 2002. That felony history prohibits him from possessing firearms.

While searching Burton’s home, JNET detectives reportedly located drug packaging materials, scales, “a small amount of suspected cocaine” and seven firearms, as well as “a plethora of ammunition,” two ballistic armor vests and multiple gun parts, according to court documents and a JNET news release.

Burton was charged Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court with seven counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, May 1.

“This investigation is on-going and additional charges are possible,” JNET said in a news release.

JNET is made up of detectives and agents from the Centralia and Chehalis police departments, the Washington State Department of Corrections and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
