Mail bound for Onalaska stolen from the Chehalis Post Office

Three trays of mail destined for the Onalaska Post Office were reported stolen off the dock of the Chehalis Post Office at 225 Northwest Cascade Ave. on Tuesday, May 28, the Chehalis Police Department announced Monday. 

The theft was reported at 4:07 a.m. on May 28, according to a news release. 

“If you live in the Onalaska area and were expecting mail you did not receive, you may be a victim,” the Chehalis Police Department said in a news release. “Please check all your financial records for any suspicious activity. This includes your credit cards, banking accounts, and credit report. Notify all your financial institutions that a mail theft has occurred, and you may be a victim. You may contact the three major credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, and ask them to place a credit freeze on your accounts.” 



The mail theft is under investigation. 

The Chehalis Police Department asks potential victims who notice suspicious activity on any of their accounts to call the department’s non-emergency dispatch number at 360-740-1105.
