A Centralia man is facing felony charges for allegedly breaking into a house in the 1300 block of Sunset Way on Sunday.

The burglary was reported just after 5:45 p.m. on July 2, according to court documents. Centralia police responded and found “approximately 20 people standing on the road outside the residence,” which had a broken front window and several otter broken windows throughout.

A responding officer noted, “It appeared as if the house had been ransacked” and noted “a cinder block inside the home in the vicinity of the (front) broken window,” according to court documents.

Dried blood reportedly led to the garage, which had two cars inside. Both cars had smashed windows and one of the cars, a red BMW, had “a large amount of blood on the driver’s side” and what appeared to be a “bloody fist mark” on it. Blood was also found on the damaged front door to the residence and the light switch to the master bedroom, according to court documents.

The homeowner told law enforcement he suspected his brother, Hugo Florez-Suarez, had broken into the residence, according to court documents.

Florez-Suarez, 36, of Centralia, had allegedly punched a woman in the face at that residence twice, slammed her face into a dresser and broke her phone on Wednesday, June 28, but fled the scene before officers arrived at the scene, according to court documents.

Deputies with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office ultimately located Florez-Suarez on July 5, according to court documents.

A Centralia officer subsequently took custody of Florez-Suarez and arrested him for the alleged June 28 assault. When questioned about the burglary, Florez-Suarez, who had a visible cut on his finger, allegedly “said all the blood in (the) house was his” and claimed “if he did anything, it was while he was drunk,” according to court documents.

He was booked into the Lewis County Jail just after 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, according to jail records, and has since been charged with residential burglary, domestic violence second- and third-degree malicious mischief, and domestic violence fourth-degree assault.

Bail was set at $50,000 on Thursday.

Arraignment is scheduled for July 13.
