A man accused of striking a woman in the face, breaking her tooth, at a hotel in Centralia on Sept. 11 has been charged with second-degree assault in Lewis County Superior Court.

The woman reported the assault to the Centralia Police Department just after 3:25 p.m. on Sept. 27, according to call logs.

After “interviews and investigations,” Centralia officers arrested Hunter Timm, 28, of Oroville, for second-degree assault on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Timm is accused of hitting the woman in the face during a dispute at a hotel in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue the morning of Sept. 11. According to the woman, Timm “hit her across the face with the back of his hand, causing her to temporarily lose vision in her right eye, lose hearing in her right ear, and broke her bottom right molar in half.”

A Centralia officer who took the woman’s report on Sept. 27 took photos of the woman’s broken tooth, according to court documents.

When questioned by law enforcement, Timm allegedly said the woman “turned her phone’s flashlight on” during the argument and said “it upset him that the light was in his face, so he tried to hit it out of her hand, but unfortunately hit her face.”

Timm was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 7:55 p.m. on Sept. 27, according to jail logs. He has since been charged with one count of second-degree assault, domestic violence, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Timm pleaded not guilty to the charge on Thursday.

Bail is set at $25,000. Trial is scheduled for the week of Nov. 20.
