A Snohomish County man made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court Monday after he allegedly stole over $6,900 from his mother.

Bryan W. Davis, 40, is charged with one count of first-degree theft from a vulnerable adult.

Davis, who had already posted bail of $25,000, remained out of custody after the court issued a $20,000 unsecured bond and agreed to quash his bench warrant.

As part of his release conditions, Davis is allowed to communicate with his mother but cannot discuss the case.

He is scheduled for an arraignment on May 21.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Davis’ mother told a detective she had given her son her debit card information so he could “withdraw $1,550 he needed for legal expenses.”

His mother had previously been hospitalized for a possible stroke.

Davis continued to access the count, allegedly stealing over $6,913 between Sept. 15, 2025, and Nov. 1, 2025.

On Nov. 19, 2025, Davis’ mother reportedly told the detective she had been reimbursed by the bank for the fraudulent withdrawals.

Prior to his arrest, Davis’ whereabouts were unknown, though he was believed to be homeless in Snohomish County, according to the affidavit.
