The Astoria Police Department has publicly identified the man and woman who died Wednesday in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide at an apartment building in the city.
Scott Mathew, 57, shot his wife, 51-year-old Denise Lynn Mathew, before shooting himself, police said.
A maintenance worker found the pair dead inside their apartment in the Bayshore Apartments at 1400 West Marine Drive Wednesday morning, Astoria Police Chief Stacy Kelly said earlier this week.
