A man has been arrested in the shooting death of his twin brother outside a Northeast Portland hotel, police said.

Martre Tirik Oliver, 26, was taken into custody Tuesday night in Renton, Washington, police said in a statement about the case. Authorities said he will be charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a firearm in the death of his brother, Martese Oliver.

Martre Oliver is being held in King County and could be extradited to Oregon within seven to 90 days, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office. Records show Martre Oliver’s most recent known address was in Tacoma.

Martese Oliver was shot early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson hotel at Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 82nd Avenue. Police said he died at the scene.

A representative of the hotel on Wednesday would not say whether any member of the Oliver family was staying at the Howard Johnson.
