Man injured in crash on northbound I-5 in Lewis County on Sunday

A man was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital on Sunday after he rear-ended a vehicle on northbound Interstate 5 in Lewis County.

The crash occurred at milepost 74 just before 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 38-year-old Montana man was reportedly driving a white 2006 Nissan Altima behind a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 driven by a 24-year-old California man when the Tesla slowed for traffic and the Nissan rear-ended it, according to the state patrol.



The Nissan came to rest on the left shoulder and the Tesla came to rest on the right shoulder.

The driver of the Tesla was not injured in the crash.

The Washington State Patrol has determined that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the incident and that the cause of the crash was following too closely, according to an incident report.
