Man Killed in Collision With Semi Truck on I-5 South of Olympia on Wednesday

A 22-year-old Beaverton, Oregon, man was killed in a collision with a semi-truck on northbound Interstate 5 near Olympia early Wednesday morning. 

The roadway was closed for six hours and 30 minutes after the crash, which was reported at 12:11 a.m. on April 26, according to Washington State Patrol. 

A semi-truck driven by a 30-year-old Fresno, California man was reportedly traveling in the middle lane on northbound I-5 when it collided with a passenger vehicle, driven by the Beaverton man, that was disabled in the middle lane near milepost 100. 



Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch on the right side of the roadway, according to Washington State Patrol. 

The driver of the semi truck was not injured. 

The Beaverton man, who has not been identified by law enforcement, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to Washington State Patrol.
