Man shot in shoulder while driving in Renton

A man was shot in the shoulder while driving near the offramp from Highway 167 to South 180th Street in Renton on Thursday. Another man was taken into custody.

Witnesses reported a man driving a Volkswagen sedan shot at a man driving a Dodge Ram around 5 p.m. Washington State Patrol responded with assistance from Renton police, according to Trooper Rick Johnson, of the State Patrol.

The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries that were not considered life-threatening., according to a statement Johnson posted to X.

Detectives were following up with witnesses and the person who was shot to learn more about the incident.
