Meet Mabel: The first baby of 2024 at Providence Centralia Hospital

The first baby of 2024 born at Providence Centralia Hospital came into the world at 7:27 p.m. Jan. 1. 

Mabel Lee Fleming weighed 6 pounds, 13.4 ounces and was 18 and a quarter inches long. 

Mabel is the daughter of Onnalisa Rose, of Morton. Her water broke at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. 

Mabel was brought into the world by Dr. Elisha Mvundra, OBGYN at Providence Centralia Women’s Center



“Onnalisa shared that she adored her nurses and care team at Providence Centralia Hospital,” the hospital stated in a news release. “She couldn’t have asked for a better team to care for her during the birth. And her precious new baby is doing really well.”

There were 651 babies born at Providence Centralia Hospital in 2023, similar to numbers in the past several years. There were 667 babies born at the hospital in 2022; 637 in 2021; 685 in 2020; 632 in 2019; 662 in 2018; and 684 in 2017.
