Third Congressional District Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania, recently hit a milestone for having recovered over $2 million owed from federal agencies to constituents in southwest Washington.

Gluesenkamp Perez recovered $2,085,146 from multiple federal agencies, such as the International Revenue Service and Social Security Administration, according to a news release from Gluesenkamp Perez’s office. Funds owed were returned to southwest Washington residents, closing 1,437 constituent cases.

In the release, Gluesenkamp Perez stressed the importance of constituent cases and her ability to aid individuals in promptly receiving answers and aid from federal agencies.

“We’ve returned sums in the tens of thousands of dollars that were owed to families, seniors, veterans and businesses in communities across our district. They’re dollars that can make a meaningful difference in meeting the bills at the end of the month or keeping the fridge stocked,” Gluesenkamp Perez said in the news release.

In March, Gluesenkamp Perez had reached the $1 million mark for recovering constituent funds. She also responded to 105,382 letters, calls and emails from residents, the news release stated.
