The Brent Hennrich campaign for Congress is celebrating another endorsement from minority Democrats in the state's 20th Legislative District, which stretches from Centralia to Ridgefield.
The Hennrich campaign on Friday announced a new endorsement from the 20th Legislative District Democrats, which it referred to as a “significant milestone in the campaign's ongoing efforts to build a coalition of support.”
“I am proud to be endorsed by the 20th Legislative District Democrats. I have had the opportunity to learn a lot from those in the 20th and I cannot wait to implement what I have learned into legislation,” Hennrich said.
The endorsement tacks on another from a group representing rural progressives who often operate in the minority in the firmly red 20th Legislative District. Rural Lewis County Indivisibles endorsed the Hennrich campaign in the middle of May.
Hennrich has cemented himself in recent months as the third candidate in a contest that is often thought of as a two-way race between incumbent Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania, and challenging Washington state Sen. John Braun, R-Centralia.
According to the most recent campaign filing information, which provides information for fundraising totals through the end of March of this year, Braun and Gluesenkamp Perez are the only two candidates to top more than $1 million in fundraising with Gluesenkamp Perez reaching more than $4.5 million.
Hennrich has positioned himself as the true progressive in the race and an alternative to the incumbent Democrat. He has so far raised nearly $170,000 for the campaign trail.
New fundraising updates for the candidates will be available in late July shortly ahead of the 2026 primary election to take place on Aug. 4.
The top two candidates in the primary will move on to the general election in November.
