Monday's College Basketball: Centralia Tops Trojans to Wrap Up Lane Crossover

EUGENE — The Blazers were able to hold Everett to five points in the third quarter to pull away and earn a 67-46 win in a NWAC women’s college basketball game at the Lane CC Crossover here on Monday.

Selena Cudney and Lindsey Nurmi each scored 18 points and Cudney added seven rebounds. Caitlin Yenne tallied 12 points and three assists, Piper Cai grabbed eight rebounds and Megan Cash had seven rebounds and four steals for the Blazers.

Kelsey Mellick had a double-double for Everett with 23 points and 10 rebounds.



Centralia shot 39 percent from the field and was 8 of 27 from behind the arc compared to the 26 percent shooting and 4 of 30 from 3-point land for Everett.

The first half was closely contested, with Everett leading 17-15 after one quarter and 31-30 at halftime. Centralia outscored Everett 19-5 in the third quarter and put the icing on the victory cake by winning the fourth quarter, 18-10.

Centralia (6-4) takes on Umpqua at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, in the Red Devil Holiday Classic.
