Morton man Raymond R. Morgan, 42, was charged in Lewis County Superior Court Tuesday with four counts of first-degree child molestation and other charges.
He faces up to life in prison and $50,000 in fines for each first-degree molestation charge. They are considered strike offenses.
Morgan has no previous felony history. His bail was set at $50,000 cash or bond during a preliminary hearing Tuesday, where a number of people were present to support him.
The judge ordered that Morgan have no contact with minor children. A sexual assault protection order was entered on behalf of the alleged victim, along with a corresponding order for Morgan to surrender any firearms.
An arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 18.
