Motorcyclist dies after being airlifted from crash outside Morton

Thomas F. King, 57, Tacoma, has died after being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after losing control of his motorcycle outside Morton on Aug. 23. 

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) announced his death on Aug. 25. Next of kin have been notified.

The single-vehicle crash occurred about 1 p.m on Aug. 23. According to a press memo from the WSP, King was traveling southbound on state Route 7 just north of Klasey Road when he “failed to negotiate the curve, lost control, and left the roadway.”



King was reportedly not wearing a helmet compliant with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. 

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
