The Rainier softball team was held scoreless through three on Thursday against Toutle Lake, but the Mountaineers found their rhythm at the plate late to blow past the Ducks 12-2 in six innings.
Rainier scored three in the fourth, four in the fifth, and five in the sixth to get a walk-off run-rule victory.
Keira Anderson had an incredible day at the plate, hitting two home runs and two doubles to drive in six runs and score three. Ryleigh Cruse hit two doubles and added another single as part of her four-RBI day, and Gracie Lantz added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Layla Hill also drove in a run and went 1 for 3 at the plate.
Elaina Henry earned the win in the circle, where she allowed just three hits and two unearned runs while striking out six.
Rainier (7-2) will be at home again on Monday, when it will host Morton-White Pass.
