The Ducks waddled into Pe Ell on Saturday and took on four different towns in the Class 2B District 4 tournament and blasted them all out of the water, beating the Timberwolves 16-6 and the Titans 14-2 in five-inning contests.
As the C2BL’s No. 3 seed, Toutle Lake took two on the road and will now take on No. 1 seed Napavine, also on the road, in Tuesday’s district semifinals. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m. It scored multiple runs in every inning against MWP, opening the game with a six-spot in the first and added five more in the second inning.
Despite trailing by 15 runs, the T-Wolves (4-17) nearly kept the going with a five-run top of the fifth. Freshman Liam Pelletier brought in two runs on a triple and three straight walks made it 16-4. An RBI single from Decklen Kelly and a RBI groundout by Bryer Kelly made it a 10-run game.
MWP’s final batter struck out to end the game. It marks the final time the Morton and White Pass school districts will be combined for athletics, with both schools going to the 1B ranks in the fall of 2026. The lone senior departing is Brayden Fleetwood, who scored a run in his final game.
Toutle Lake had similar success in the quarters versus the P2BL’s No. 2 seed in PWV, erupting for a nine-run second to seize all control. All but two of the runs scored with two outs and the Ducks weren't done, plating four in the fourth.
Kaeden Blain registered an RBI groundout for the Titans (14-7) in the first for their only lead of the day. Max Jarvis had an RBI single in the third, the only hitter in the lineup with two hits. They now turn their attention to facing league rival Raymond/South Bend in an elimination game on Tuesday in Adna.
