The Napavine volleyball team cruised to a 5-0 record on Thursday, sweeping Wahkiakum 25-7, 25-13, 25-15.

After winning three of their first four games in five sets, a three-set victory made for a much easier finish for the Tigers and coach Monica Dailey.

“I was proud of the girls,” Dailey said. “Sometimes they can get a little distracted around the third set, but tonight they did a really good job of staying focused the whole night.”

The Tigers were excellent serving the ball in Cathlamet, as Emily Kang and Briza Contreras were perfect from the service line while Jessie McCoy recorded four aces.

Keira O’Neill led the team with 12 kills, while Dakota Hamilton had 14 assists in addition to her eight kills. Grace Gall played great defense, tallying seven digs.

On Tuesday, the Tigers will head to Adna, where the loser will be handed their first loss of the season.
