National, State Parks Offering Free Entry Saturday, April 22

Posted

If you’re looking to go to Mount Rainier National Park or one of the many state parks in the region, Saturday might be a good day to do so.  Saturday is a fee-free day for all national and Washington state parks.

All entrance fees will be waived at Mount Rainier National Park and other national park sites across the country in recognition of National Park Week. State parks are waiving the need for a Discovery Pass in honor of Earth Day.

There are three remaining fee-free days for national parks after Saturday: Aug. 4, the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act; Sept. 23, National Public Lands Day; and Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

For state parks, there are seven fee-free days left in 2023 after Saturday: June 10, National Get Outdoors Day; June 11, Free Fishing Day; June 19, Juneteenth; Sept. 23, National Public Lands Day; Oct. 10, World Mental Health Day; Nov. 11, Veterans Day; and Nov. 25, Autumn Day.
