Nightclub security guard arrested after Pioneer Square shooting

Seattle police arrested a security guard early Saturday following a shooting outside a Pioneer Square nightclub, where three people were shot to death earlier this year, according to the Police Department.

Officers near the OHM Nightclub, in the 100 block of South Washington Street, responded to the sound of gunfire just before 2 a.m. They found a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was given aid at the scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Witnesses told officers a security guard had fired a weapon in the area. Police detained the 25-year-old man after he dropped a gun and bulletproof vest. He was booked into King County Jail.

Around 4:30 a.m., in an apparently separate incident about a block away, police responded to a report of a crowd with possible shots fired in the 500 block of Second Avenue, near the Sinking Ship garage. However, police found no evidence of a shooting and no witnesses who could confirm the gunfire.

Hours later, a man showed up at Harborview Medical Center with stab wounds to his back, scalp, ribs and arm. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening, police said. Officers believe the man and his friends had been followed out of a nearby nightclub, then got into a fight where he was stabbed.

Police were still searching for suspects in the stabbing.

In May, Keilani Renae Harris, 19; Briaun Keith Dinish-Lomelli, 27; and August Alfred Lastrappe, 24, were killed in a triple homicide outside of the OHM Nightclub.

Following the May shooting, police arrested two suspects who were later charged with first-degree murder.
