A no-bail bench warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old man accused of assaulting a woman in Ashford in March.

The suspect, identified as Jacob Michael Criss, of Ashford, is accused of slapping a woman several times and grabbing her around the neck on March 21, 2023, according to charging documents filed in Lewis County Superior Court last month.

Lewis County law enforcement reportedly tried to locate Criss between March and June “with negative results,” according to court documents. The alleged victim reportedly told law enforcement she believed Criss fled “to somewhere in Bonney Lake.” He is possibly operating under an alias, according to deputy prosecutor Scott Jackson.

Criss was charged with one count of domestic violence second-degree assault in Lewis County Superior Court on June 13 and a summons notice was sent to his listed mailing address with an order for Criss to appear in person for a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on July 5.
