No injuries were reported in a residential fire in the 400 block of state Route 505 between Winlock and Toledo that broke out Sunday morning.
Personnel with Lewis County Fire District 15-Winlock were dispatched to the fire at approximately 7:37 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, according to Fire Chief Richard Underdahl.
Mutual aid from Lewis County Fire District 2-Toledo, Lewis County Fire District 5-Napavine, Cowlitz-Lewis County Fire District 20-Vader/Ryderwood and Lewis County Fire District 6-Chehalis/Adna, also responded.
“The home was occupied but the owner was awoken by his smoke detectors” and self-evacuated, Winlock Professional Firefighters Local 2510 said in a social media post on Sunday.
The fire was knocked down quickly, with the last crews clearing the scene at approximately 10:53 a.m., according to Underdahl.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced homeowner, as well as two people residing in a trailer on the property who are now displaced due to power being cut during the fire response, Underdahl said.
