Xtyn Norberg buried two goals in the span of seven minutes in the second half to give the Riverhawks a signature victory over the Scotties by a 3-1 verdict on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Freeman has been a staple since dropping down to Class 2B. It won the 2024 state title and were runner-ups last fall. Toledo (2-0) waltzed in and pulled off the win on Norberg’s tallies in the 57th and 64th minute, both assisted by Aspen Cooper.

Toledo outshot Freeman 16-5 and Ivana Cabrera recorded four saves in goal. Oncia Chase opened the scoring for the Riverhawks with a 16th minute goal off a corner kick.

Up next for Toledo is a Tuesday night tilt against Black Hills.
