North Beach PAWS has announced it will start its 2025 series of pet vaccination clinics for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at The Grange, 401 W. Waldrip St., in Elma.

Vaccinations and microchips are $20 each, according to a news release from North Beach Paws. Vaccines available include rabies, DAPP and Bordetella for dogs, as well as rabies and FVRCP for cats. Parasite treatment for cats to prevent fleas, ticks, roundworms, hookworms and ear mites will also be available for $20.

North Beach PAWS, an all-volunteer, no-kill animal shelter based in Hoquiam, is expanding its community outreach. According to the news release, the organization served more than 600 pets in 2024, doubling its number from the previous year.

“The demand for low-cost vaccinations and microchipping has grown in our community,” Carol Jamroz, the president of the organization, said. “North Beach PAWS is pleased to partner with veterinary practitioners from across the county to provide basic preventative care for family dogs and cats.”

Washington state law requires all dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies. Diseases such as distemper are prevalent in wildlife, and can infect unvaccinated pets. Numerous common diseases are preventable due to vaccines.

“We know that veterinary care is expensive, and cost shouldn’t be a barrier to protecting your pet,” said Nanette Sparrow, dog shelter manager. “These low-cost vaccination clinics make it possible for more families to keep their pets healthy and protected from preventable diseases.”

Vaccination clinics will be open at the following times and locations:

• The Grange, 401 W. Waldrip St., Elma, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12

• La Vogue Cyclery, 523 Levee St., Hoquiam, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug.16

• Beacon Pest Control, 402 Damon Road, Hoquiam, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m on Saturday, Sept. 13

The events are first come, first-served, and no appointments are needed. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers.
