The northbound Interstate 5 Scatter Creek Rest Area between Centralia and Olympia is now open, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced in a news release.
All amenities at the facility are open except for drinking water, which will be made available after routine water quality testing is complete.
Contractors working for the Washington state Department of Transportation closed the rest area at 8 a.m. on Feb. 10 for water system upgrades.
The planned closure allowed crews to make updates to the facility’s water system, which reduced long-term maintenance costs and extended the service life of the system.
