The lanes of northbound Interstate 5 near the Vader and Toledo area are closed because a log truck struck the state Route 506 overpass at milepost 60.
In a social media post, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) stated there is no estimate for when the lanes will reopen. The accident is expected to cause congestion into the afternoon because there is also construction taking place on northbound I-5 at milepost 59.
“Traffic is being diverted up and over the ramps and back onto the highway so please be patient so that everyone gets through safely,” stated WSDOT. “Our bridge crews are en route to inspect the structure. We will provide updates as we get them.”
