‘Not TODAY satan!’: Russell Wilson reacts to mention in Epstein files

Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson took to social media Sunday evening to deny any affiliation with late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, after emails released by the U.S. Justice Department suggested Wilson once considered buying one of Epstein's private planes.

NOPE!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not TODAY satan!," Wilson wrote. "Some Random plane broker tried to sell me a plane. I had no idea whose plane and never bought the plane. Never talked nor Never met the man. Thank God!!!"

Among millions of pages of documents published by the Justice Department on Friday evening were two email chains between Epstein and his personal pilot, Larry Visoski, discussing Wilson as a potential buyer of Epstein's Gulfstream G-IV private jet in 2019.

"Jeffrey," Visoski wrote to Epstein on Jan. 27, 2019, "Russell Wilson (Seattle SeaHawks quarterback) is calling Gary non-Stop since his viewing yesterday. He wants your GIV."

Epstein had given Visoski his permission to fly the plane for Wilson two days earlier, according to the Justice Department emails. Visoski told Epstein that during this flight, Wilson "took many photos and video" with his wife, Ciara.

The flight would have taken place nearly two months after the Miami Herald published its first installment in "Perversion of Justice," an award-winning investigative series covering sexual abuse allegations against Epstein, as well as the financier's connections to powerful people.

"Russell wants to sign his new contract with Seattle SeaHawks before letting the media and his team know that he is Purchasing a Plane, he is concerned it will effect his contract negotiations for some reason??" Visoski continued.

"Russell is asking for a way to lock up the plane until his deal is signed, could be 2 weeks, or 2 months or more."

Wilson went on to sign what was then the richest contract for an NFL player in history, maxing out at a potential $146 million, in spring 2019.

Publicist Stephanie Jones, whose firm represents Wilson, said in an email Sunday afternoon that the NFL veteran "never purchased the aircraft, nor was he aware that any aircraft discussed by third parties had any connection to Epstein.

Federal Aviation Administration records were not immediately available to show what happened to Epstein's Gulfstream jet. Epstein was charged with sex trafficking in the Southern District Court of New York less than six months after the email exchange, and died in August of 2019.

Wilson ultimately did purchase a 2000 Gulfstream G-IV, with FAA records listing the official owner as West2East 330 LLC, based in downtown Seattle. The aircraft was registered to the company in December 2020.

Wilson is set to be a free agent this offseason, after being benched by the New York Giants in 2025. This year he also moved on from his longtime agent, Mark Rodgers, according to ESPN.
