Another day, another Quenton Lanese record.

The Olympia sophomore cross country star, one week after recording his first sub-15-minute race, set another personal record with a time of 14 minutes, 54.7 seconds at the Fall Classic Invitational in Tacoma on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Lanese shaved five seconds off his previous time of 14:59.3 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 3. He ran 15:02.1 two weekends prior. His all-time best run at the Pacific Lutheran University Meadows Disc Golf Course on Saturday was enough to win the boys race by 45 seconds.

Pope John Paul II senior Kevin Hu and freshman Micah Henry earned the second- and third-fastest times in school history, respectively. Hu came in third place with a new PR of 15:47.8, while Henry blazed to a school freshman-record 15:55.3 in fourth place.

Olympia sophomore Quin Zola secured his best time yet at 16:15.4 for eighth place, beating his previous record by 17 seconds. Senior Jack McDurmon also set a lifetime-best at 16:29.9 to grab 12th place.

As did Olympia junior Liam Doyle (19th at 16:47.8), sophomore James Levitt (24th at 16:55.9), and sophomore Tai Taylor (28th at 17:00.5).

Black Hills junior Seth Thomasson was the Wolves’ top runner with a 41st-place time of 17:24.6.
