Onalaska came out on the winning end of a back-and-forth non-league matchup in Toutle on Monday, as the Loggers topped Toutle Lake 8-7.
The Loggers went up 3-0 in the top of the second, but the Ducks responded immediately in the bottom half with four runs, and they added another in the third to go up 5-3.
Onalaska tied the game with a pair in the top of the fifth, but Toutle Lake responded with another run in the bottom half to regain the lead.
Jaelyn Auman hit a two-run home run to put the Loggers in front in the sixth, and Abby Ellis hit a solo home run in the seventh for a crucial insurance run. The Ducks plated a run in the bottom of the seventh, but an 8-5 double play ended the game.
Auman caught a fly ball and threw out the potential tying run, who was trying to advance to third after tagging up at second.
Auman finished 3 for 3 at the plate with her home run and two runs batted in, Ellis finished with her homer and RBI as part of her two-hit day, and Renzy Marshall added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Gracin Vickers also added two hits and two RBIs in the win.
Onalaska (1-1) will host Winlock in another non-league matchup on Thursday.
