Four errors and five unanswered runs by the Ducks allowed them to pick up a C2BL victory over the Loggers 8-4 in Toutle. Onalaska was the designated home team due to rain impacting its field.
Randi Haight launched a game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the first for Onalaska, then the Ducks grabbed the lead back with a three-run second and never trailed the rest of the way. They added two more in the fifth and a run in the seventh.
Kayiah Sandridge and Kate Zandell each finished with two hits for the Loggers (1-2, 1-2 C2BL) while Haight ended with three RBIs. Sophomore Braelyn Babb struck out eight while going the distance in the circle.
Onalaska will hit the road and face Winlock in a non-league tilt on Thursday.
“Great learning curve once again,” Loggers head coach Rich Teitzel said. “Just need some play time, get their confidence up.”
