The Onalaska volleyball team impressed in its 2025 opener, sweeping Shelton 25-8, 25-19, 25-10.

The Loggers opened the game aggressively, as Onalaska coach Susan Gordon said “all of their hitters were swinging.

“We played really well,”Gordon said. “All of our other hitters are starting to come on and we have to start using them more. We have to become more rounded, but we have the ability. We need to focus on making that happen.”

There was a downward blip in the second set, but the Loggers were able to prevail, and they returned to their dominant form in Set 3.

“We pulled it together,” Gordon said.

Gordon added that the Loggers are working on their defensive consistency, saying they need to become “more unpredictable.”

“Our defense has picked up their game a lot,” Gordon said. “They’re really starting to play well … They’re goal by the end is to have everyone involved. The potential is there, we just have to focus on it coming out.”

Emalie Jacoby finished with 12 kills, 12 assists, six aces, and 16 digs, while Renzy Marshall added eight kills, five aces, and four digs. Braelyn Babb added 13 assists.

Onalaska (1-0) will trek east for a non-league matchup against Selah on Wednesday.
