One person was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for medical treatment following a four-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 5 near U.S. Highway 12 in Napavine on Sunday.

A silver 2002 Toyota was reportedly driving northbound in the right lane when the white car in front of it stopped for traffic near Exit 68 and the Toyota struck it in the rear, causing it to crash into a white 2006 Kia Spectra, which subsequently crashed into a gray 2021 Acura RDX.

Troopers with the Washington State Patrol were dispatched to the crash at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.

The second vehicle involved in the crash left the scene before troopers arrived.

The driver of the Toyota, a 49-year-old woman from Hillsboro, Oregon, was issued a citation for following too closely. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
